I really should be in bed right now.
or studying, either one would be good.

I did a brief page of simple cat practice sketches, one of which was of a rotund, blissfully smiling cat. Upon me showing them, someone called the blissing kitty a "buddha cat".
Well, my mom happens to own this big ceramic blue buddha, a plump smiling guy that my grandma bought in Japan many years ago. While taking my shoes off, I looked at the buddha like I had many times due to its particular place in the house, and it clicked.
"Oh my god, that cat DOES look like the buddha!"

Thus spawning this.

He's wearing a monk's robe. I decided to make it orange because Tibetan monks often wear orange.

I'm glad, the coloring was tough.

Oh my, I love it! I wish I looked like that. I would even like to be rotund if I could bliss at such a fine level, and be cat. The color style you tried is perfect, very buoyant [sic] and light, matching the buddha theme. It would make a very good illustration/story.

I lost my leg recently... and it reminded me of the time I lost my leg in the War.

Yeah, I'm thinking this might just be in an artbook if I get enough stuff done to put one up on Lulu or somewhere.
:iconsheen16:
